"You cant get there by bus, only by hard work and risk and by not quite knowing what youre doing. What you'll discover will be wonderful. What youll discover will be yourself." -Alan Alda
Native of Milwaukee, WI, DAngelo M. Caldwell aka Artist Brown, had music in his blood from day one, being blessed with parents who are both very talented singers. It was with out a doubt that Brown was going to be a successful artist as well. It wasnt until his senior year in high school when Brown decided to take his music career seriously. Originally only into hip hop to r&b, Brown began to get his feet wet in the music industry. Striving to span his horizons and become a more diverse talent to separate himself from the competition, he began to play piano, write poetry and perfect his vocals. Brown changed his alias to "Artist Brown", symbolizing him becoming the complete artist; writer, performer and musician.
Artist Brown has spent an immense amount of time in the studio working on his craft and perfecting his art. His current project, "What Can Brown Do For You?", a mixtape LP is scheduled for release on February 13, 2010.
Artist Brown has also performed at several venues throughout the country including Summerfest and The African World Festival, annual events with an average attendance recorded in the tens of thousands.
Not only has Artist accumulated a fan base in his hometown, but he also has gained fans in cities across the US performing in Baltimore, Miami, Daytona Beach, Atlanta, Orlando and Chicago just to name a few.
Despite his various travels, Artist Brown still remains loyal to his roots, playing the piano and organ at his grandfather's church every Sunday. Brown is also the official pianist for Milwaukee native Poet/Spoken Word Artist "Mike C." (Michael Cockroft).
When not working on music, Artist Brown is well active in his community mentoring teens at local community centers and programs such as the Lemonade Stand, a nonprofit organization for disadvantaged teen girls. Artist is also a full-time college student.
"I really have to give all thanks to the Lord above. Without him, none of this would be possible. I Also want to thank my family and friends, and most of all my fans. I create real music. I AM NOT A RAPPER, I am a lyricist, a song writer, vocalist, a musician, a business man, a friend, a big brother and most importantly, I'm Brown. The true definition of an Artist!"
